Limited MM ER exp —> mba —> pod shop?

So laid off from MM ER team (fi wife layoffs) after 1.5 years of experience on a decent team. Plan is to apply to an MBA but my ultimate goal is to land at a pod shop. How realistic is this?

I’m concerned about a few things here. I understand that I can rerecruit for ER but the pay relative to the price of biz school isn’t worth it imo. Additionally I’ve considered IB but how many associates in IB move to pods?

Are pods recruiting straight from MBA?? Any advice on making this move would be appreciated

Balyasny hire summer associates from MBAs and there’s P72 Experienced Academy but outside of these there aren’t structured programs for MBA’s.

I’ve personally never seen a specific pod hire out of an MBA. Getting back into ER is probably the best bet.
