(London) Drop recent strong exits(e.g. MFPE/MFPC) from your bank + avg analyst class headcount. Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas All,

Currently drafting a 2024 London ranking based on exits(cringe I know but its always useful for guidance for future interns and analysts + I may have a slight case of the tism and enjoy categorisations). Went A2A this year at a us bb and must say quite alot has changed in the past 3 years when I was coming in as an analyst. One of those notably being the uk growth of some eb's. In fact, I Remember checking h1 deals completed league tables this year and seeing evr 5th in the uk which was quite shocking considering their uk rep on this forum. Robey Warsaw was 7th too(Surely considered an eb by now?). Obviously we also now need to take into account the Demise of cs and the domino effect that's had on other banks(Santander/db bankers expect a slight upgrade as your Christmas present :))

Have been utilising LinkedIn for my research but as we all know, that's quite time consuming as you need to discern from the kids that have put insight days as experience and whatnot. So for the sake of not letting anything fall through the cracks, I would really appreciate if you all could offer more insights into the profiles of your analyst classes(headcount per year+mf(pe/pc)/hf/distressed hf exits).  Only mention those since 2021 to fully represent the last analyst class cycle at all banks.

Need more data points for mm/ibab/regionals/european bb  especially. Thanks primates!

Merry Christmas to you too! Here's a summary of some notable exits and average analyst class headcount from London as per the WSO content:

  • London Ranking Exit Opps PE and HF | Wall Street Oasis

    • Analyst class covers deals for non-Americas (EMEA+ Asia).
    • Analysts have great exposure to large deals, e.g., GSK-Tesaro.
    • Work-life balance is emphasized, with bankers playing sports on Friday evenings.
    • Pay is substantial, with a reported 50k base + 70k bonus.
    • For exits, seniors vouch for analysts, leading to placements at firms like KKR (2 last year out of a 12-analyst class).
    • Analysts are considered generalists, which provides broad career optionality.
  • EB/BB Class of 2021 Exits | Wall Street Oasis

    • Specific exits to PE/HF recruiting are mentioned, such as a JPM TMT analyst moving to KKR.
  • 20 Most Frequently Asked Questions - London Edition | Wall Street Oasis

    • The document provides insights into the strengths and types of deals for various banks, which can indirectly influence exit opportunities.

For more detailed and specific information regarding headcounts and exits, especially for MM/IBAB/regionals/European BB, it would be beneficial to check the WSO Company Database and the latest threads on the WSO forums, as they might have the most up-to-date information provided by industry insiders.
