Ended up getting a internal audit position at a large BB. not ideal but better than nothing and hoping to lateral after a year or 2
Really solid plan ngl.
Rooting for you man
a job in this market is big shit man, congrats and good luck
Nice work! Just keep your head high, remain hungry, learn everything you can, and you’ll be in a great spot with one year of experience under your belt. Personally, I took a very non-traditional path to banking after not getting a “perfect” job right out of school, and just wanted to send my support.
thanks for all the support. Been a rough recruiting cycle and was down I couldn't get a IB seat but all the support makes me feel better about it
would you like to share some details about your journey to IB? I'm trying to lateral with non IB background so looking for any inspiring stories
Wound up getting a banking seat, feel extremely grateful. I deleted all social media from my phone and went head down for a few months.
Still on search. I've been looking into other roles as well, but I also feel like I'm spreading my network a little too thin. I had like 1-2 contacts at each firm, but some of them already switched out of banking. Feels like I'm not strategizing well tbh. There's only so many people willing to hop on a call for someone who they're not recruiting, some of my loose network's leaving for PE, and I'm having finding new firms.
Was fortunate to get an offer at a great MM bank. It’s in a completely different product group (debt advisory) than what I’m used to (technology) and in a different city than I initially was looking for but excited as hell regardless
How were you able to get this? I have been networking relentlessly and seems like there isn't opportunities. Did you have a connection or did they come on campus?
