I've been researching hedgefunds and alternative asset managers in Toronto lately, and havn't really found anything of substance. The majority of them to my surprise are tiny (5-7ppl shops) and love to invest in the mining space (go figure).
I wanted to open up a thread to discuss long/short macro funds in Toronto. Do they even exist lol?
PMed you, its (one of) the biggest Asset Manager in Toronto, but not long short.
Hedge fund industry in Canada is non-existant relative to US, UK, Asia, etc.

Long/Short macro? I think you mean tourist macro. None that I'm aware of, but the closest is Gluskin.
Picton runs a long short EM equities fund and the PM that runs it (forgot his name, Asian guy) can ramble about macro topics till the end of time, but I'm unsure about the extent to which it filters into his decision process.
