L/S analyst - how should I prepare for the role?

Background: Fresh graduate starting work at a MM L/S fund in Asia, lean team with only 3 analysts and 1 PM
- I guess I'm most interested to know 1) if there is anything I can prepare for the role which would facilitate my workflow and optimize efficiency (e.g. creating model templates, excel watchlists, checklists etc.); 2) becoming a valuable asset to the firm; 3) how I should be planning growth and laterals

- I understand that there might potentially be many changes when I officially join but would very much appreciate some generic advice from fellow seniors. I have been doing readings on certain sectors that the team is interested in, and also on sectors which I believe are promising.

Thanks for taking the time to reply!
