MacBooks in HFs?
Have you ever seen MacBooks (or in general, operating systems other than Windows) used by investment firms?
If yes, would this be reserved for the data scientists / quants / etc.? Or also for discretionary investment folks?
What would be challenges (e.g., software that doesn't run)?
Unless you use some sort of Remote Desktop viewer that takes you to a Windows environment you’ll be using Excel for Mac, so you’ll have to get used to using Command instead of Control for some keyboard shortcuts, and other shortcuts just won’t work. Also, unless you have access to a Windows environment you won’t have MS Access.
A plus about Macs is you have the ability to set up Spaces, so you can have multiple desktops that you can just swipe through, which is handy if you have a few different assignments/projects going at the same time.
