Market down, pay down. Market up...you guessed it, pay still down

My pay fell 30% in 2022 and is still down from 2021. I'm on the sell side, so I can tolerate lower markets = lower research budgets, but this recovery means nothing for me or my firm.

Are analysts on the buyside experiencing the same?

If my pay isn't going to go up idk why I'm in this business. Not like we're doing God's work.

How do you say your pay is still down? Did you already get your bonus?

At my bank most divisions, apart from IB analysts, get their bonus in Jan. Are you an IB analyst?
