Monkeys what to make of this?

Had an interview with an investment management firm, it lasted 25-30 (only scheduled for 20) minutes and mostly a conversation. The position was a fixed income analyst and it would be a 4 month internship.

Anyways, we got to talking, I talked a bit about myself and he immediately picked out some of the interests I had listed like sports and weightlifting. We talked about those for a while, maybe7-10 minutes. It then it turned to talking about my previous experience in analytical roles and proficiency with programming. The interview ended with me asking him several questions and he noted each one was good.

This is OCR and when I talked to some friends who knew other people with the same interview, they said the guy grilled them on fixed income/bond technicals for a majority of the time.

I'm not sure what to make of this, in your guys' experience is this positive or negative that I didn't get technical questions at all?

If the other candidates had, or claimed to have, specific experience with credit/fixed income they were likely to get a grilling on those skills. If you didn't mention any relevant experience in that department my guess is he just wanted to assess the fit portion of the process.
