Multi Asset Fund -> Macro HF, possible?

Originally posted this in the AM forum but didn't really get any responses so reposting here for more reach:

Is making a move from a multi asset (TAA etc) fund to a macro hedge fund generally possible?

I know not many people tend to make this move, but I am curious if this is a function of people at MA funds not being hugely interested in a HF type environment or if MA roles don't have much overlap with macro HF type research/ trade idea generation or if it's an issue of HF not considering MA guys during recruitement.
