Need exit opp ideas for being in strategy at bank.

Like title says, I’ve been in a role for the past few years where I’ve helped “fix” things. Think consultant but NOT flowery powerpoints but actual hard hitting gap identification and changes/getting buy in for changes. Worked closely with C suite.

I left that role to focus on a specific area that is not revenue generating. Now I feel lost. i liked “fixing” things or being a strategic thinker to solve real problems, but want to still be in financial industry and thinking PE or hedge fund (big banks are such black holes operationally that I’d love a smaller company). Consultancy feels like the worst idea - I hated ALL the ones who worked with our bank. Their PPTs sucked so bad. I’d have to do it all over or I’d just give up. But is that the only option I have?
