Pitching a stock - does this sound like a cop out?

I have an idea that I am interested in pitching. Since I don't know all the details, I thought it made sense to say upfront that "I think XYZ is an interesting idea. We do not cover the name, but I think xxx"

Do you think it looks bad to the interviewer if you qualify your knowledge by saying that? and if it's just better to stick to an idea that isn't as good but I know pretty well?
