PMs/Analysts - what would it take you?

To all of the PMs and senior analysts - what would you look for in a fund when considering joining out of college?

What are the most important things / dealbreakers that you’d need to have in order to justify skipping the typical sell-side process?

For context, I’m a rising senior considering taking the path straight to a mid-size HF and unsure how to consider this option vs top banks.
