Prep and Best Practices for Starting at HF
Hi All,
I recently accepted an offer at a fund in the healthcare / LS space. I have ~2 weeks off before I start my new role. Was wondering how you all would recommend I spend this free time? For reference I come from a non-IB or ER background, but have worked for ~2.5 years in the life sciences space.
Should I spend time brushing up on modeling skills? Deep dive on the fund's current portfolio companies? Travel to take advantage of the time off? Open to any suggestions.
Additionally, was wondering if there are any daily routine best-practices that you'd recommend I get into before starting? I obviously keep up to date with relevant newsflow, but any specific advice or other tips would be appreciated.
Thanks
Bump. I just got an offer starting in a week and already feel the imposter syndrome setting in.
If it's a more long-term oriented fund (as mine is,) best thing to do was get as familiar with portfolio names as possible
What aspect of Life Sciences?
Definitely travel LOL
I'd guess that when I can look back in 6-12 months I'll agree
