Qube Research and Technologies (QRT)

Hello All,

Could anyone shed some light on qube research and technology? How's the fund doing and how's the culture in general? Is is good place from learning perspective?
What are career growth prospects if one joins as quantitative researcher? Could one become PM at some point?
Are they flexible with relocation after few years?

Apologies for bombarding with the basic questions. Any relevant information would be very useful.

Hey alphamax25, I'm the WSO Monkey Bot and I'm here since nobody responded to your thread! Bummer...could just be time of day or unlucky (or the question/topci is too vague or too specific). Maybe one of these topics will help:

More suggestions...

If those topics were completely useless, don't blame me, blame my programmers...

Friend of mine there, and interviewed with them a while back, didn't get an offer, but got a pretty good idea about the setup.

Tier 1 for performance, crushing it since inception and beating competitors like Citadel, Two Sigma, etc.

Culture wise, super French and collegial. They hire almost exclusively people with good currently running strategies or super-smart Juniors/PhDs as Quants.
Seems like you don't get taught a lot there, you come, they guide you, but as a Quant you won't learn the secret sauce. You need to create your own.

Fully Systematic Fund run by Traders, not by Quants unlike some other Quant Funds where Traders are doing the execution. Traders are basically selected out of the best performing quants to manage portfolios. (Think Quant-> alpha research, Traders -> PMs), so you can become a Trader if you become a top Quant and a spot becomes available. I heard the Quant life is pretty chill though, some people prefer staying as a Quant (longer hours, less time spent on research as a PM, dealing with PBs, managing people, managing strats, more stress, etc). They are a Single Manager so Traders are not in competition with one-another, Strategies are split between each of them.

Comp-wise unclear to me, comp is likely lower than elsewhere for superstars and PMs, Partners making a fortune. But they hire from places like Citadel and other Tier1 in terms of comp, so they must still pay well. It seems they have lower than avg base though, is everything in the bonus pool? Big bonus for everyone in 2020, did not ask my friend for 2021.

I don't know about relocations.
