Reaching out to MM PMs - risky?

I'm a student and I'm connected with a lot of MM PMs on linkedin, and have been sending messages to try and network, chat, learn about potential opportunities in their pods. A lot of them, expectedly leave me on read after accepting my connection lol. I am a firm believer of being persistent and like to follow up which I've done a little bit, but I'm also a bit apprehensive - People know each other and I wouldn't want word to maybe get around that I'm some annoying kid pestering all these PMs. Maybe I am severely overreacting but wanted to get perspective if ppl think this is something I should continue or something I should stop. Thanks

Pitches are your networking currency. Even if you feel they are terrible because you're learning, it is something tangible which shows you care about providing value back to the PMs whose time you're seeking. These folks are working on very limited free time and are also inundated with these types of requests all the time. Sharing a pitch with your intro is how you stand out. The more targeted the better, try to avoid sending a healthcare pitch to a semis PM for example.

Lastly, try not to take it personally if someone isn't able to get back to you.

Hit rate will be extremely low, college kid wanting pod job is a tough sell - what value do you add that someone with 2 years of IB doesn’t? The risk/reward isn’t there for most PMs to take the risk.

Having pitches ready in case you can get some time to talk is a good idea though. Needs to be very good however.
