Sell Side to Buy Side, pros and cons?

Basically the title. Been on SS for a few years a the Jr level at a BB and generally enjoy it (work in securitization). The other day though I got a call from a HH trying to set up interviews with some major funds (i.e. Ares, Apollo level) and the job description seemed interesting so I agreed to a meet. Anyways, want to know the pros and cons of making a switch as someone that isn't necessarily itching to jump. In particular, risks, effects on future experience, career progression and of course comp
