Semi-Systematic Trader vs QR Citadel vs CitSec

Hi,

I am not sure whether to apply to be a semi-systematic trader or to be a QR intern for summer 2024. I am specifically looking at Citadel and Citadel Securities. Could someone walk me through the day to day of a trader, and what type of person is the best for one or the other?

I am a first year bachelor's student on a three year degree. I am looking at the UK only.

Thanks

AFAIK, it's near impossible to get a CitSec QR internship after second year, even if you have perfect credentials. Most QR internships only take third-years/PhDs. My advice would be to apply for trading if you want a realistic shot.

Thank you for your replies. I appreciate it.

I am asking because I have a fast track option and an official mock simulation from CitSec and Citadel , and I need to choose one or the other. I am bit confused by the QR because it seemed that all of them had Master's or PhD, but they seem to be recruiting bachelors now (they said they also consider bachelor students now). I need help narrowing it down between those two.
