Small-Cap Hedge Funds

I've been working at a middle-market I-bank covering various small-cap companies over the past 4+ years and am now looking to jump to the buy-side.

Looking for suggestions for top tier hedge funds that have a strong record investing in Small-Cap Stocks. I'd prefer to stay in NY, but would consider going to San Francisco for a top tier opportunity.

I have a BA from an Ivy and am CFA level II

Any Small-Cap hedge funds or resources would be greatly appreciated!

Small-Cap focused hedge funds are a niche part of the industry, but the ones who do it well, have proven to be very successful over time. As a starting point, I recommend you check out this out: http://www.hedgetracker.com/article/Top-SmallCap-Hedge-Funds-see-assets…

While Greenpoint is great firm, less than 8% of their portfolio is invested in true small-caps, so that might not be a good fund for you to focus on.

You have to do your DD - use whale wisdom and other sources such as VII to locate good funds. In my experience, small cap funds are very very small shops, e.g. Brian Bares. Also, saying you are CFA L2 is a no-no ... as you should know. Good luck!

Hey guys, I have an innovative proprietary algorithm that automatically calculates the credit ratings of small-cap and pennystock companies which are not rated by the "big 3".

We currently rate over 10,000 US companies with continuous quarterly updates. The change in rating overtime gives stock investors a strong signal about a company's creditworthiness and underlying financials.

Can anyone tell me how small-cap hedge funds use credit ratings? I'm looking to monetize my data and I'm having a hard time finding out who uses small company credit ratings or would value my alternative credit ratings data.

Any input is really appreciated. I can also send over an Excel file with over 10, 000 US company credit ratings, including thousands of OTC companies
