Sohn Conference Pitches Look Like Amateur Hour

I was purviewing their site for past presentations and to my surprise, found pitch decks from some of the "sharpest equity investors on the planet" to be poorly formatted with surface-level analysis that strings together often irrelevant data points to build a narrative that would be obvious to a 13 year old. My favorites are the value investors pitching a "sell shovels to gold miners" idea that talks about copper mines to capitalize on EVs or semiconductor suppliers to capitalize on 5G/AI like the entire market hasn't priced that in already.

Real talk did anyone see the London Sohn Cargojet short 😂 😂

Don’t think it’s up but the guy critiqued the age of the fleet + some “peculiar tax accounting” which were just his misunderstandings of the business.

that muddy waters guy did  an ELF short (which you can find online) which just misinterprets import data. Sohn LDN is something else.

If the pitches make money, why does it matter? People would have said the same thing about being long MSFT or AAPL 5 years ago…
