HF isn’t pe, there isn’t a concept of “can I get in from XYZ” as if xyz is what’s holding you back. Your own ability and the needs of the specific PM are what matter

For big 4 MM (C/M/P/B), yes. For more 'prestigious' SM funds, you usually need to come from a target school or be under a top ranked analyst.
