SWE Bonus at HFT/Hedge funds/market makers

Am asking for purely SWE roles at HFT/HF/MM firms, i understand that the base is 150-200k for a junior position, and for the first year some firms do offer a 1st year guranteed 12 month bonus.

But could i ask for subsequent years, how much bonus does SWE usually get?

Thanks

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some insights regarding bonuses for Software Engineers (SWE) at HFT/Hedge Funds/Market Makers:

  1. Base Salary: For junior positions, the base salary typically ranges from $150k to $200k.
  2. First-Year Bonus: Some firms offer a guaranteed 12-month bonus for the first year.
  3. Subsequent Years: The bonus for subsequent years can vary significantly based on performance and the firm's overall success. While specific figures for SWE roles are not detailed in the provided context, bonuses in hedge funds and similar firms can be quite volatile and are often tied to the performance of the individual and the firm.

For more detailed and specific figures, it would be beneficial to refer to discussions and threads on WSO that focus on compensation in these roles.
