I appreciate that. I’m very siloed in my current role in PE. I don’t really pay attention to most HFs. This is a unique opportunity that got put in front of me. Was just looking for more info/ people’s thoughts. Don’t know why I’m getting MS.
Because it’s crazy that someone who would even contemplate working in the HF world would not know about third point. It’s like if a HF guy asked you if you knew anything about Carlyle. How dumb is that?

Seems like he's been fomoing into everything these days. Hard into Chinese equities right at the peak. Privates in 2021. Private credit 6 months ago as that market is getting super-saturated.

Its surprising given Third Point used to be very aggressive (and successful) on the activist front but now its becoming a typical HF with average or below average returns

Comp sounds subpar. I know surprising but we recently hired a principal from there. He said to get paid you had to have a good year, team had to have a good year, and firm had to have a good year… the stars had to all align
