Tips on improving Wonderlic/IQ test

I recently took an IQ test for a MM interview and think I did really badly. The questions weren't hard but, it took me way too long to complete them. I'll admit I didn't prepare whatsoever. I think I answered maybe 30/50 questions. Is there a way to improve my speed on these tests?

  • Almost nobody finishes the Wonderlic test, it would be unusual to get it all right in that time
  • I have done one Wonderlic for a North American firm once, over a teams call. It was beyond weird, but I passed it.
  • There are books, online tests, .. but honestly, all you can do is do these prep tests and then just go for it
  • Being quick to answer is far more relevant in this test than usual, if you get stuck just move onto to the next one

I never understood why I had to do the Wonderlic test for the role I applied for, but I think it does give an insight to the candidate's general aptitude.

Such an IB muppet reply. Everything in life is a game that you can max/lvl up. Especially Tests.

OP asked "how to improve Wonderlic/IQ Test [Scores]." Not "how to improve my dumbass IQ."

I failed all 9 of my prop trading IQ/Wonderlic/Puzzle Test interviews during undergrad. 3 had Wonderlic and I was shooting ~30/50 in practice tests. I told two friends which interviews had wonderlics and they got offers with 42 and 45. Both were shooting ~37 week prior to interviews and repeatedly did practice tests.

Be smarter lol

figure out the types of questions you're not good at and just pick a random answer for those after a few seconds (assuming this isnt every question). So if you're good at math, then usually you can spend most of your time on the questions that are straightforward and have some extra time for any that may take a little longer (ie 15-20 seconds).
