Weiss Asset Management and Bridgewater Target Schools
Any idea which schools these firms recruit at? Does any T10/upper-target work, or is this an HYP only sort of gig.

Why does Weiss get brought up every day on here? Its a solid fund but its weird somebody seemingly asks about them 4x a week? Idk
More concerning is that most of the responses in those threads conflate Weiss Asset Management and Weiss Multi-Strategy Advisors. Be sure and do your homework, folks.
Bridgewater hires from everywhere, but I'd never want to work there out of undergrad (if you're interested in the high finance path)
Why?
Vastly different investing style and culture than a MF PE or fundamental SM
Prospects talk about Weiss bc it’s high comp and basically only recruits from T-10. Bridgewater for the IA research program (not trading, data etc) is very prestige heavy lots of HYP and other T-10s
are you fine at a Columbia/uchicago/UPenn/Dartmouth type school for these roles? I just see mostly H on linkedin.
We had kids in my frat from one of those said Ivies who worked at both Weiss and Bridgewater, so yeah you're fine

I went to check out their website - there should be an asterisk that says: "although we do only HIRE by pedigree" based on what I see in this thread:
