Workstation / Monitor Setup

Trying to optimize my home setup to maximize productivity. Curious what other people's preferred workstation setups are (# of monitors, size of monitors, how they're laid out, which software goes on which screen, other hardware tools used, etc).

So far I've kept mine pretty minimal - two 32 in monitors side by side. But ready to start experimenting.

Putting this in the HF forum, since it seems like my trader/HF friends are the most thoughtful about this kind of stuff. Any tips would be appreciated!

2 monitors over three as you don't have to move your head as much to view the edges of the setup.

Use 16:10 monitors - can see more lines on excel this way.

Most Helpful

four monitors

one to look at your portfolio and pnl in real time (spend 50%+ of your time looking at this one, in 5 second bursts, every 10 seconds)

one with bloomberg HOT news alerts (spend 25% of your time looking at this, in 1 second intervals) - you never know when you might see something before anyone else does and make a lot of money

one with youtube/spotify/cnn/fox news/cnbc - this is your leisure monitor. you deserve it. spend 10 minutes an hour on this

one with outlook/excel - this is where the rest of your time goes
