Tbh hf out of undergrad gets a lot harder unless you're going to HYP/Wharton. Stern doesn't really give you any necessary advantage in getting into a hf. The location however does give you a shit ton of advantage to possibly get internships. Given that hf recruiting out of these two schools isn't really anything, it would make sense to go to the school you like more. Stern doesn't really place well into west coast ib roles, some do go but that's a minority, but you could use ib in nyc as a stepping stone to land a hf job a few years down the line.

Overall I guess NYC would give you more opportunities than wherever USC is in terms of working at a hf
