Does the perpetual buying by 401ks and other investments keep the market at a high floor?

Was thinking about market drops the other day. I get that major market moves are mainly from the big players to determine price. Just trying to think my way through it, as we've been on a historic bull run, does the constant buying of stock of 401ks, ESOP, daily/weekly/biweekly investments by people great a floor for the market?

Just thinking, say the market had a 50% drawdown, there would still be buyers from at less 401ks correct?
