Investing on Ebola Scare

Anyone have any ideas on how to capitalize on the Ebola scare currently getting talked about?

I've picked up some shares in a biotech company (Tekmira) that is developing a potential cure but that's a spec play and could blowup depending on the FDA.

Any ideas on how to short west africa through an index or individual securities? Any opinions on going long cocoa?

tgmurr2010 - Thanks for the idea....I hadnt really thought about it because it doesnt seem to be spreading here in the US. At this point there is only 2 reported US cases. Until the US has more I am going to stay clear of it at this point because of the safety concerns reported --- thanks from the @stockmarketDr on twitter!

I actually looked into that idea. I don't think the drug idea is very viable because the disease is pretty easily controlled with proper quarantine. Perhaps the insurance space but I don't think diseases are typically a covered peril for non-health.

On the fixed income side, you will probably see the usual - move to treasuries etc.

TGM 10 you sir have made a killing.

The answer to your question is 1) network 2) get involved 3) beef up your resume 4) repeat -happypantsmcgee WSO is not your personal search function.
