Young bankers in Wall Street large banks

Hi everyone
I work for a French financial magazine named L'Agefi, in Paris. I cover HR topics in the financial sector and my next article is about how Wall Street banks attract young people and retain their young bankers. I am seeking for comments about this subject, could you please tell me what you think about it. In recent articles, I read that Wall Street banks gave a pay increase to their young bankers because if not, they would not stay any longer. They prefer tech companies like Google, Facebook etc or smaller structures like hedge funds, little M&A "boutiques"...
