Team was dead af last I remembered. Wells recently hired a lot of tmt guys so maybe the office will be better, but from what I recall, they had horrible deal flow.
Heard culture is great but terrible terrible deal flow it’s mostly debt historically and the MDs in SF are pretty bad still so don’t see that changing, alright place to lateral from though.
Gudofsky and Hogan have joined WF though and they’re decent so maybe it changes but they’re in New York from what I can tell and it’s probably not going to change materially when you’d be at Wells
New York TMT is the way to go for Wells
The thing is their NY TMT group is also pretty bad (office is amazing though and heard culture is decent too), haven’t seen any exits of note although again that might change with some of the new seniors
Any other info out there? I was under the impression the office had improved since covid boom and has been able to keep some of the business more permanently but seems like that isn't the case from the comments
Probably gonna take some years to really ramp up the sf office. Wells Fargo left it in absolute shambles.
Got it, thanks for the clarity I guess I'll keep recruiting then. If this does end up being my only offer, is the office at least a decent place to lateral from to other places in SF or LA? I'm just assuming FT recruiting is shot given the state of the market
