100K base for an analyst?

My friend recently got a job as an analyst (lateral) at a BB, and he was telling me that his base salary offer was 100K. My understanding was that base was set at 70,80,90K for 1st,2nd,3rd year analysts (he just finished his 2nd year at another BB). I know associates at my bank start at 100K base, so not sure whether to call BS on him.

It's not that far off from the range for 3rd year analysts. In any case, why don't you worry about your own sh*t?
