1st years, how much is ur credit card bill a month?
just trying to gauge if I am spending too much compared to peers
all in this year should be probably around 130-150k. Rent is 3k (A lot I know but wanted to splurge for my mental health cuz job sucks lol)
and then spend ~2k a month on food, going out, drinks, shopping, etc
I definitely need to cut down/relax right , in terms of spending
That's still enough to max out 401k and save a little + bonus. Live a little 🤠 the "real money” comes in a few years anyway
hell yeah appreciate you my man!
Yeah I spend pretty much the same as you. Don’t really give a shit if I’m saving money at this point
Is 2k pretty extravagant or low for ny? Do you feel like you have to budget yourself at all? Incoming sa trying to get an idea.
On one hand, the law of compounding means that the earlier you start saving, even if it's small amounts, makes a big difference when you retire. On the other hand, it's hard to expect anyone to live in Manhattan on $150k a year and save anything. Just max out your 401k and try to save some token amount to cover you for a couple months if you (god forbid) lose your job. Think that's all that can be hoped for.
Usually $2,500-$3,000 a month. My rent is pretty cheap (sub $1,700) for a decent place so am able to splurge/save a little more
4-5k
