20-year-old losing hair - any impact on IB FT offer issues and PE Recruiting?
So I'm a 5'6'' 20-year-old who is losing my hair and i wanted to know if it would have any impact on getting a return offer from SA in 2021 and potentially affect PE recruiting. Next summer, I will be interning at an EB that is known to be p chill and has mostly "attractive-looking" analysts, etc. Do you think it could affect my chances at getting a return? Also, for PE recruiting do you think it could have an impact? If it matters, my school is semi-target (few ocr events with the bbs/ebs) for banking but is basically non-target for pe
Wear a hair piece if you're really worried - no one will notice
Also get on fin asap if you haven't
OP here: fin and minoxidil dont work for me as they actually made me experience some side effects. In terms of hair piece, i don't come from money so idt i can afford those expensive real looking hairpieces
What sides on minoxidil? Its a relatively safe drug and unless you’re using insane amounts its side effects arent bad and doesn’t go systemic. Worst side effects are heart palpitations but if you’re a healthy individual shouldn’t be an issue
Source: dad is a cardiologist who uses it
ok money shouldn't be an excuse here especially if you're gonna make like at least 20-25K that summer - treat the hairpiece as an investment for your career if you really care about looking good
what were your side effects on finasteride? i've been on it for over a year now, 21 yrs old, more as a precautionary measure since many in my family lost hair but lost it closer to 30. had side effects for like 1 week but i think it was all in my head cause of reading online scary stuff, and it just went away. no effects since.. maybe give it another try?
Turst me, the EB people are not that attractive. Prove me wrong by posting pics.
Yo'll be fine

Yes, that one MS that you received was totally me. Just in case anyone wants to comment that prematurely

OP Here: When I say IB FT offer issues and PE recruiting, I am wondering if having visibily thin hair will impact me getting a return for FT and/or if it could impact FT PE analyst recruiting or associate PE recruiting.
Honestly who cares. I cant grow facial hair for shit and i’m always mistaken for a high schooler, but I could care less. If it bothers you so much get treatment or cut it off. No one is gonna hold it against you.
This has to be a troll post surely
Does it?
Yeah it does. Otherwise it is just scary to read... if this is legit then OP needs to forget the hairpiece asap and instead work on self-esteem
If you’re confident and work well then you’ll be fine, but if you’re the sort of person worrying about what people think of your hair and putting your height in posts then... There is a reason all this alpha shit is joked about... all good jokes are rooted in truth
.
Source? From my experience, it is an overstatement to say most bankers are bald. That is simply not true. Where did you get your statistic from??
.
you could do one of three things. 1. shave it all off- you can claim you like the cut, or use any other excuse. 2. Stay as you are - seriously dude. if you’re insecure about your hair, then your confidence only warrants you back office at best. How do you plan to pitch a crazy idea to clients if you’re not even confident in your own body. 3. wear a piece or use medication - be wary of the side effects of using certain pills.
P.S. I started losing my hair junior year. had noticeable slimming at my internship at BB, but no one gave a damn. It’s all in your head (or rather falling off your head)
Ewww....balding guys are gross
This is a top hair implant Doctor in Dallas. Lam Institute for Hair Restoration.
He has created a couple of his own formulations, 82M (minoxidil) and 82F (finerside).
Check out the google reviews. This stuff is the real deal.
I met the actual doctor... sincere and smart guy. When I questioned him, he just said nobody else spends their weekend sifting through research and seminars to find out what’s really working.
Dude, just buzz your hair and carry on with your life. Christ, talk about a non-issue.
does biotin work?
bro, 2 of every 3 analyst at my fund are balding. just get a buzz cut in the mean time of it bothers you that much (later, consider hair transplant)
