When exactly do bonus numbers come out? And when are they usually paid? Is it the same for S&T as well?
Depends, most people start hearing end of may/early june with bonuses hitting in July/August.
My prediction is 75K top bucket
Flat to +5k from last year.
Are we gonna be delayed again this year?
If senior bonuses are any reflection of analyst bonuses, shouldn't we expect a flat or negative change YoY?
If you're at a bank with large Japanese exposure/operations, expect a huge haircut!
Here a blog post I wrote on hedge fund bonuses: //www.wallstreetoasis.com/blog/35793
Almost the middle of May, any rumblings as to analyst numbers that get paid in the summer?
M&I is predicting $50-65K for top bucket. Hopefully that is a little low.
I have been getting good feedback from senior guys here (MM, UK). Should be "significantly" higher than last year.
in U.S. its around 50k top for BBs.
there is no way in hell it's that low... sorry you're way off
the top should be around 50-60k give or take, M&I sounds about right.
then put a 50% tax on that...you end up with a new toyota
^^unless you're one of the smart ones not working in nyc haha.
Megafund, go be wrong somewhere else.
Well BB top last year was 65k. There's been a huge decrease since then. UBS couldn't even pay its MDs with its bonus and had to go back to the drawing board to increase the bonus pool. MS cut bonuses by 30%.
I'm thinking 55k top to be realistic, 50k if pessimistic.
Mark my words.
Citing UBS's MD level bonuses to predict analyst bonuses isn't accurate. If MD bonuses went up 50% this year would analysts bonuses jump close to 100k? No, because MD pay is much more heavily weighted by their bonus. Also, when MS cut their bonuses by 30% their revenues were down nearly 40% for the trailing twelve months. They are one of the few BBs that actually saw an increase in revenues this year, so I expect they will adjust accordingly.

any clarity yet?
