2014 UBS Sophomore Symposium
Hi guys I have been looking around on the net and can't find anything about the application deadline for this and my campus career services office didn't even know the program existed. Anyone know of a timetable I should expect for the application and any more information other than what's posted on the UBS site?

just via email. I too am surprised by phone rejection. He must've offended them to provoke an in-person rejection hahaha jk. But best of luck to the rest
my friend said that he got a call from them, so im just curious how they're reaching out to people
oh, and anyone is curious, my friend who applied had a 3.8+ from a semi target/target and didn't get in i wonder who makes it in to these kinds of things
Wait, so just to clarify, they called him to tell him he didn't get in? is that really necessary haha, I think I'd rather get an impersonal rejection email than a rejection phone call
hmm weird, i haven't been contacted for a rejection or an interview. but glad to see that they'll probably be getting in contact soon

The event is in May, so we won't hear for some time. IMO.
yeah, it looks like they have multiple rounds of screening and are just narrowing down applications in rounds or something

I'm not sure about this year, but looking through the forums for previous years it seems that there have been interviews given out.

Ok weirdest thing ever: last week I got an email saying that I didn't get it, but I just got an email invited me for an interview?
I think some of their emails got messed up - they addressed me as "Vanessa"... my name isn't Vanessa haha. They sent me an email last week saying my app was under review though

Just heard back. Didn't get an interview, but did get an initial email saying my app was being considered. I don't know how I managed to get a sophomore BB internship but no interview for this lol

Anyone have any insights on the interview? I have to imagine that its all fit-based questions right?
So, the email said to respond to it to confirm that you are still in interested in and able to attend the program, and that the person would get back to us to schedule a mutually convenient time for an interview this week. I responded to the email, but haven't gotten a follow up about scheduling an interview time yet? Has anyone gotten this?

I imagine it was a behavioral interview, at this point they don't expect you to know technical information correct?
Yeah it was a HR interview so there isn't any technical questions. Mine was legit 15 minutes...

Does anyone know what the actual symposium is like?
I'm not sure, but I've heard its 2 days of intense competition. There are trading games where you trade pizza and soda, 3 hours of straight modeling where the winner gets a job offer, and I also heard there is this weird dance competition. Those are just the rumors :(
