2016 vs. Now Job Market
Perhaps this is targeted towards the older people on this site. I'm a rising sophomore, and plan on recruiting for IB SA 27 in the next few months. I stumbled upon an old 2017 forum claiming 9 students from my semi-target school landed Goldman Sachs IBD in the year before. This is crazy to me, as I think in the past 3 years only 3-4 did the same. Is this moreso my school just declining in reputation (Canadian, I think Trump's visa policies may have impacted this quite a bit too), or are similar things happening across the market? Was 10 years ago much easier to recruit for investment banking?
