2019 Evercore FT Investment Banking Interview
Hey guys, wanted to ask some insights about Evercore FT Interview Process. I have a first round next week and would appreciate any insights regarding questions they ask/focus on, structure and etc. I don't have any IB background and doing MO right now so won't have any deals to talk about. I attend a Non-Target 3.9 GPA
Lol guess I got dinged haha
SAME
Is this for M&A or Rx?
Did you network heavily for this interview? No offense but you don't seem to have the typical profile for these FT interviews.
Yes I networked heavily, and gladly it worked. I'm not sure what you meant by " you don't seem to have the typical profile" though because a lot of us work hard for these interviews.
it's the lack of IB experience, good luck on your interview!
Congrats! May I ask when did you apply? I applied three days ago and I am a semi-target in LA with 3.6 GPA. I am currently doing my summer analyst stint at a boutique and I haven't heard anything.
Hi, I applied as soon as it opened around July 15 if i'm not mistaken!
who did you address your cover letter to?
You landed a FT interview at evercore without IB experience? Jesus fuck dude. Group must absolutely love you.
I have a 3.8 from a west coast non target with two summers of IB experience and I have yet to hear back. Good luck!
FT hiring there is limited ( will interview >15 candidates for 5 spots) and you will be interviewing against kids who are trying to trade up names or jump from BB to EB as well as top target kids who spent the summer at mega funds (and probably skipped the first round interview all together). You got your foot in the door so anything is possible. Your best chance is to make a really good personal impression on as many of them as possible (on top of crushing the technicals). Don't be discouraged if you crush the technicals and they still go in a different direction. Full time recruiting is an absolute blood bath.
Hey man, appreciate this a lot! And I understand technicals won't be out of the guides but do you recommend any resource for technicals that was most helpful for you when you recruited FT? Thanks!
I always tell people memorize the guides if you want to be average.
UNDERSTAND the Rosenbaum book and you will have no issue with any technical interview.
