27 Year Old Analyst - Will It Matter Later On?

Spent 4 years after undergrad at Big 4 before making the jump to IB as an Analyst 2. I do love this job but thats not to say I'm not interested in exit ops down the line. Ideally I would like to commit to staying till I've completed a year as an Associate but I will be nearly 30 at that point and I'm not sure how much bearing that would have on my candidacy for a buy-side role (PE or Corp Dev). I know firms aren't allowed to discriminate on age but they can do the math without making it obvious that it was because I'm too old.

Would love to hear some perspective from people that have experienced a similar situation.

Thanks!
