$80k starting salary?

Apart from the bulge bracket banks (GS, CS, DB etc) and the top boutiques (LAZ, GH, PWP etc), at which other firms can a 1st year analyst expect to make $80k all in mininum? If anyone knows any European comp figures that would be much appreciated too.

80K should be well within expectations. Most regional places will pay 60K base and NYC will be at or around 70K base. Sign on bonus can put you over the 80K mark, but even if that isn't given to you there should be an end of year bonus that would put you at 80K or well over.

Roughly what would you say is the average transaction size at these places? I know it doesnt determine comp but you cant deny there's a strong correlation between deal size and pay.

Also dont the Big 4 Corporate Finance arms pay like $60k or some paltry figure like that? Their average deal is around $250mn, and considering they get the most deals in the middle market I dont see any other MM banks paying more. So where'd you draw the line between "golden handcuffs" and downright slavery?

You know you've been working too hard when you stop dreaming about bottles of champagne and hordes of naked women, and start dreaming about conditional formatting and circular references.

whateverittakesBB regionals will still give you the same base with the same sign-on bonus and the same relo bonus.

I apologize. When I said regionals I meant MM firms in a specific city/area. My bad.
