Accelerated Process - Lazard

I received an offer from a top MM firm last week, and the offer expires in roughly three and a half weeks. I'm extremely interested in Lazard, and I was wondering if asking for an accelerated timeline would be an advisable move. Has anybody had experience with this? I want to let Lazard know that they are my top choice and that I have an exploding offer, but I am not sure how (or even if) I should do this. I don't want to seem pushy or desperate for an offer. However, I am concerned with Lazard's stage in the recruiting process, as I am not sure how many spots they have already given for M&A. For perspective, I have a 4.0 GPA at a target school (non-Ivy, top ten). Thanks so much in advance.

I would just wait until they start interviewing again. I heard from a recruiter that they'll do interviews over the summer, so if you ask now that would definitely be pushy. And if you ask now, I doubt they would set up multiple interviews only for you

But definitely contact them later so that they know they're your top choice

I agree.

Only time I've seen it was when a friend successfully accelerated their process with Lazard. They were

A) MBA level B) Diversity candidate C) Holding an (effectively) exploding BB offer.

  • Effectively because while we are protected from exploding offers by the school, the banks have ways of doing it with early sign bonus, saying "if you were to commit to us by X date we will give you an offer", etc.
