Accounting at a major PE shop
I have an interview with a PE firm within their accounting division (think Blackstone, Apollo, etc).
I am a junior, and I would be working from Jan - May.
Is this position worth it? Can this position help me move into PE [buy side] later on?
Thanks.
hmm... probably good to get to know the organization, network, it should definitely add the brand value to your resume.
I would say its a good opportunity, especially since its Jan to May, which would suggest you dont have many other valuable options available... Im assuming this is an internship.
Could be ok if you get into more of a valuation/pricing type position that does fair value measurements. I know DE Shaw has a role like that and the people seemed legit.
