Acquisition Analyst to IB Analyst
Currently, I am working at a multi-family real estate investment firm as an acquisition analyst/underwriter. Its a part-time gig since I am also in my senior year of my undergrad (double majoring in econ and math). My question is what can I be doing to better market myself for an IB analyst position after I graduate? I am currently brushing up on my accounting by reading texts. I am also taking the financial modeling course offered here.
Also is it unheard of making the move from acquisition analyst to IB analyst? If anyone has experience in this switch please let me know what helped. I am also reading a lot of literature pertinent to IB (Barbarians at the Gate; investment banking: valuations, LBOs, acquisitions; etc.).
Any insight into making the switch to IB is helpful. Thanks in advance.
