I've come up through commerical/corporate banking in the Southeast (turning 38 this year), and am wondering about the likelihood of moving into an IB role with BBT, or what area would be a natural fit.

no idea, but a good thing to keep in mind - lots of college/hs/young guys here who will throw out advice that doesn't pertain to you or is based off ridiculous extrapolation; better to ask some of the more seasoned veterans of the site
