Advice for best course of action?
I'm a sophomore (in the fall) studying software engineering at a no name school, not sure if its what I want to do, I've always found banking/finance interesting. Seems like transferring would be my best bet to get into IB. Though I've never taken the SAT, would it be beneficial to take it and then transfer? Or would I be wasting my time?
Ignoring for a second whether it's a good idea to transfer, I wanted to clarify your point on potentially taking the SAT. Did you take the ACT and get a good score?
I didn't take either as the colleges I applied didn't require it.
I normally don't become involved in college related posts but how did you not take either? Curious.
Without judging whether or not it's a good idea to transfer to increase your shot at IB, the schools that banks hire from almost always require a standardized test, so if you want to transfer to a school that will increase your chances of getting into IB, then yes, you'll need to take the SAT or ACT.
