Advice for post-grad Applications

Hi all,

Thank you in advance for your advice and comments, I'm sure this will be useful for a number of users.

I graduated with MSc in Finance in 2021, and towards the end, I started an Off-Cycle Internship (6 months) at a big name but not in IBD. I recruited during the internship and got an IBD coverage internship (1yr), which I am coming close to completing. The firm is a BS bank, not top tier but similar to WF/RBC/BNP. After completing I think I can move internally to M&A, but want to recruit for 2023 BB M&A.

My question is, how do you position yourself CV-wise nearly 2 years post-graduation going for entry-level analyst roles? Does education still sit at the top?

Upon starting I will have 6 months of M&A, 12 months coverage, and 6 months product focussed experience. I think this will be enough, and my technicals are sharp, and I interview well and have a good story. I am based in London, should I network? Thus far, I have found that to be less important unless it is internal. Should I utilise recruiters?

What would be your game plan in my position?
