Advice Needed: Breaking into Investment Banking as a New Grad in Canada

Hi everyone,

I’m an international student who recently graduated with a Master of Finance (MFin) from Schulich School of Business. I’m currently seeking entry-level roles in Equity Research or corporate finance in Canada.

Background:

Questions:

  1. As an international student, what’s the best way to network and increase my chances of securing a role in ER or corporate finance?
  2. How can I tailor my resume to highlight my strengths despite limited local experience?
  3. Are there Canadian firms or specific industries more open to hiring international candidates?

I’d greatly appreciate any advice or tips from this community. Thank you!
