After Signing

If you got an offer and signed with it, should you stay in touch with the HR recruiter? I am signed up to begin in the Fall of 08, with the start date being "negotiable". I told them I would like to take the offer and submitted all the paperwork, but I have not heard back and I am assuming I will not hear anything until I get closer to the Fall? Or should I be worried about not hearing from them? Thanks

You're fine. HR will be in contact closer to the date. If you’re really that worried send a cursory email enquiring when you are likely to receive further details.

Once you sign on the line, HR typically forgets all about you - as they've done their job.  Whoever's in charge of new analyst orientation will reach out to you in the next month or two.  Start dates are pretty typical across the street and usually commence shortly after July 4th.

That being said, you can always give your recruiter a call to ask her to put you in touch with those who might know more about orientation / see if you've still got a job.
