Am I an idiot?
Non-target and went through the recruiting process for sophomore year and received an offer with a small boutique. After accepting the offer I received an interview with a larger MM firm, however I called them and let them know that I had accepted an offer elsewhere and would not be able to interview this year but would love to be considered for next year. I did this based on the fact that finance is a small world and I didn't want to start my career in IB by burning bridges at my current firm. Did I make a mistake by not taking the interview or am I over thinking this?
Yes. The MM is a no-brainer
No. An interview doesnt even mean that ur close to an offer so you should have no regrets having taken the boutique offer.
This was a mistake.
