Am I cooked?
Just finished my associates at a community college with a 4.0 and now transferring to finance at A&M. Have a boutique real estate development internship freshman year but nothing this summer. Have been doing the FMVA cert and writing investment articles for Seeking Alpha instead, while actively applying to search funds. I feel like I have made a mistake by focusing my energy on working out and my job as a delivery driver instead of getting finance related experience. Already behind on 2026 recruiting and struggling to play catch up. With the goal of going into IB, how are my chances? What should I be doing differently? Should I settle for a Plan B, and try to lateral in or cut my losses?
TL;DR: Got associates at community college, minimal finance experience, behind on recruiting, trying to get into IB.
