Am I f*cked?

I’m currently an intern at a BB bank. My internship program is a bit strange and involves mandatory rotations in structured lending groups and flow desks. The program has multiple rotations and I greatly enjoyed my experience in the financing desk and an invitation back to the group for a third rotation is typically viewed as a strong hiring signal. I received news today that I won’t be asked to return and I have no clue what to do. My third rotation desk isn’t appealing to me for a full-time offer but re-recruiting seems brutal. Thoughts?

Tough to call anything at this point. Would take a breath, realize even in a worst case outcome you will be fine and in the longer-term you will look back at this and realize it likely wasn’t a great fit anyway. Many who don’t get offers every year end up happy in different roles. If they do make an offer you will be ok. Would focus on each remaining day to do your best, collect any feedback you can get and network as you can. I know this can be unsettling but take comfort in the fact that nothing you can do today, worrying won’t help and this is a longer term focus re career.

might be cooked a little bit at the start of your career but don't re recruit. I think you'll find a place to work at that's right for you.
